Every year, hundreds of millions of ink cartridges end up in landfills. Refilling the ink cartridge for your inkjet or LaserJet printer prevents them from ending up in the trash. You can sign up to get them refilled through a local or national service
that offers comparable ink. Refilling reduces trash and usually costs about half the price of a new one. Cartridges can handle at least half a dozen refills and once they're spent, the cartridge shell qualifies for recycling.
If everyone in the United States who buys a new ink cartridge this year gets their cartridges refilled, the resulting savings would be approximately $6 billion. That's enough to pay the annual salary for 197,563 office managers.
