Green Paint - In 3,300 Colors |
|
Less is Moore? You won't find much hype about the eco-friendly credentials of Benjamin Moore's new paint line Aura, even on the company's own website. The company decided that sneaking the low-Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) feature into a line of acrylic paints that's branded as "the finest paint we've ever made" was the best way to market it. Available in all of Benjamin Moore's 3,300 colors, this paint dispels the misconception that Earth-friendly means earth tones. The water-based paints are very pricey. The company claims most jobs can be done with just one coat, however, making the price comparable to a two-coat job with Benjamin Moore's standard paints, which cost between $25 and $35. There are less expensive low-VOC paints out there, but if the reputation and brand name of this stalwart supplier is important to you, you might be swayed to give them a try. Also available from Benjamin Moore is the less expensive Eco Spec line of paints, first introduced in the 1990s, a popular choice with green interior decorators.
