Pump Your Ride - Check Your Tires

Low air pressure in your tires reduces your gas mileage and increases the likelihood of an accident. Check the air pressure in your tires once a month. Not sure how? Ask your local auto mechanic to show you. You'll be saving gas and money.

A study by the Rubber Manufacturers Association showed that 80 percent of drivers don't check the air pressure in their tires. If every vehicle in America had its tires checked and adjusted to the proper air pressure, the resulting savings from gas costs would be about $5.3 billion dollars. That amount is enough to buy 37 million year-long subscriptions to satellite radio!
