Renewable resource

This is the holy grail of conservationists: Any material that can be quickly regrown or replenished after harvest or use-or a source of power that is created as quickly as it is consumed-so that the resource isn't depleted. Identifying and using these resources, and reducing our dependence on non-renewable resources, is the key to long-term sustainability. Also called renewables.
