This is not about snug bell-bottoms. Retrofit is a term that refers to taking an existing structure, fixture, automobile, or other piece of equipment and making it better. In eco-friendly terms, a building can be retrofitted to work on solar power, a lamp to use energy-efficient bulbs, and a car to have a more efficient emissions system.
