Natural ventilation

You feel this effect every time you throw open a few windows in the house: Natural ventilation moves air into and out of a building through passive means-using forces such as wind and pressure differences-instead of mechanical air-conditioning systems or fans. Strategically placed windows and vents provide air supply and exhaust. Good natural ventilation can save energy and improve indoor air quality. Not only an option at home, natural ventilation is increasingly being incorporated into commercial HVAC systems as an energy-saving technique, for example by allowing fresh outdoor air in during the coolest hours of the day.
