Kelvin (K)

Ever wonder what "white-hot" really means? Kelvin has the answer. It is the scale for the color temperature of light. Red- or yellow-toned lights have a lower color temperature (around 3000K), while white- or blue-toned lights have a higher temperature (5000 or 6000K). In Kelvin, absolute zero-the point at which an object emits no color or energy whatsoever-is 0 K.
