Double-glazed window

Glazing is another word for window glass, and this type of window has two panes instead of one, for added insulation. The space between the panes is filled with air, or with a gas (argon), which provides heat and sound resistance. Take note: A good seal is essential to an effective double-glazed window; if yours accumulates dirt or moisture between the panes, the seal is probably compromised-this requires professional attention.
